2,468 Sri Lankan workers directed for Korean jobs this year

2,468 Sri Lankans have been directed for jobs in South Korea this year. This has been revealed by Kuwak Han Jong, Director General of the Institute of Korean Human Resources Development Service. He disclosed these details at a media conference organized by the Institute of Korean Human Resources Development Service.
Kuwak Han Jong pointed out that more than 58,000 Sri Lankan workers have served in South Korea. 44,975 of them have gone to South Korea for the first time. He said benefits enjoyed by Korean workers are also given to Sri Lankan workers.
Around 5,000 Sri Lankan workers receive jobs in Korea every year in the construction and fisheries sectors. About four hundred who have returned home after serving in Korea have not yet obtained their insurance benefits. Such workers could receive their benefits from the EPS Centre.
