SL President makes first foreign visit to India

The Indian President says that the Indian tour of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa marks a new entry on the historic relations between the two countries. Indian President Ram Nath Kovind said this during a dinner hosted to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The Indian President emphasised that the long standing relationship between the two countries will be strength to the progress of the South Asian region.

The Indian President said that he believes the manifesto of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will accelerate a development of all sectors in the country. Speaking on the occasion President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said steps will be taken to increase trade, economic and social relations by strengthening the historic relations between the two countries. The two state leaders discussed the need to uplift the living conditions of the people in the two countries. IndianParliamentarians as well as members of the Sri Lankan delegation were present on the occasion.
