The Royal Australian Navy ship HMAS Parramatta will visit Colombo

The Royal Australian Navy’s frigate HMAS Parramatta will visit Colombo on this Sunday to continue the close maritime security cooperation between Australia and Sri Lanka. As part ofits four-month deployment to South and South-East Asia, the visit to Colombo will provide an opportunity for Sri Lankan and Australian Navy personnel to fosterprofessional and personal relationships.Australia and Sri Lanka are working together on the continuation of a rules-based regional order.Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka David Holly said Sri Lanka and Australia share the same vision for cooperation and mutual respect in the Indian Ocean region.

Meanwhile, two Russian Navy ships ‘YaroslavMudry’ and ‘Victor Konetsky’ arrived in Colombo yesterday on a three day visit.  The visiting ships were welcomed by Sri Lanka Navy.Later, the Commanding Officers of the 02 Russian Navy ships met Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sumith Weerasinghe at the Western Naval Command Head Quarters and discussed several matters of bilateral importance’
