British Prime Minister Boris Johnson greeted his new cabinet of senior ministers vowing to repay the trust of voters by improving infrastructure, cutting crime and building more hospitals.

Rishi Sunak, who was appointed Chancellor of the Exchequer after a shock departure from Sajid Javid, arrived at Downing Street ahead of the meeting alongside former Brexit Secretary Stephen Barclay, who has taken up the post of Chief Secretary to the Treasury. Johnson forced the resignation of his finance minister Javid for refusing to toe the line, a sign the prime minister was tightening his control in a government reshuffle designed to deliver his vision for Britain beyond Brexit.
