Third placed Borussia Dortmund and Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at Signal Iduna Park as Leipzig’s seven-match winning run in the league came to a dramatic end.
Dortmund seemed in cruise control, going into the half-time break with a 2-0 lead following goals from Julian Weigl and Julian Brandt, but a quickfire Timo Werner brace soon after the restart restored parity 53 minutes in.
Jadon Sancho put the hosts back in the lead two minutes later, but Patrik Schick would have the final say as his 77th-minute equaliser saw Julian Nagelsmann’s side extend their lead at the top of the standings to three points for the time being.
