Indigenous Doctors says that the local medical system was devalued

The Association of Indigenous Doctors says that the local medical system was devalued and massage centres spread throughout the country due to a permit system introduced by former Health Minister Rajitha Senarathne.

They said this while attending a media briefing.General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Independent Indigenous Doctors Association Dr. Indrani Swarna Senarathne said that former Minister Rajitha Senarathne established brothel houses by the name of Pancha Karma Centres. She said that accordingly, three Spa Centres were established on one receipt. She said that this is a very unfortunate situation and it should be rectified. Chairman of the Kelaniya Ayurveda Conservation Council Dr. Sisira Abeyrathne said that the Spa Centres which are spreading in the country are not engaged in any Pancha Karma treatments.
