A felicitation ceremony held for the winners of International Water Rocket Competition in Japan

A felicitation ceremony took place at Arthur C. Clark Centre for the team including U.G. Diduli Adithya of Kandy Sri Chandananda Buddhist School who won the first place of the 15th International Water Rocket Competition in Japan.

The Arthur C. Clarke Centre introduced activities related to water rockets 14 years ago with the aim of popularising Space Science in Sri Lanka. As a result Sri Lankan students were able to win the first place of the International Water Rocket Competition thrice since 2017. During the past period more than 100 local competitors have participated at the International Water Rocket Competition. Addressing the ceremony Director General of the Arthur C. Clarke Centre Sanath Panawenna said that Sri Lankan Scientists are on par with other scientists in the world in space science and technical abilities.
