Ministers assume office

Ministers Dinesh Gunawardena and Wimal Weerawansa today assumed office at their Ministries.
Minister Dinesh Gunawardena assumed office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He took over the duties of the Ministry amidst the blessings of the Maha Sangha. A group including Ministry officials was present.
Meanwhile Dinesh Gunawardena also assumed office at the Ministry of Employment and Labour relations. He took over the duties at the Ministry of Labour in Narahenpita.
Minister of Mahaweli, Agriculture, Irrigation and Rural Development Chamal Rajapaksa assumed office amidst religious observances. Later he addressed the Ministerial staff.
Minister Bandula Gunawardena assumed office at the Ministry of Information and Technology Communications.
Minister of Industrial Exports and Investment Promotion Prasanna Ranatunge assumed duties at the Ministry located at the World Trade Centre.
Minister Pavithra Wanniarchchi assumed duties at the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs and Social Security.
S.M. Chandrasena was appointed as Minister of Environment and Wildlife Resources and Lands and Land Development. He assumed office in his new Ministerial Portfolio. A tree planting programme was held parallel to the event at the Ministry premises.
Minister of Ports and Shipping Johnston Fernando also assumed office today. He took over duties amidst religious observances.
Minister Wimal Weerawansa assumed his duties at the Ministry of Industries and Supplies Management. He assumed office amidst religious blessings. People’s representatives and Ministry officials were among those who joined in the occasion.
Minister Ramesh Pathirana assumed office as Minister of Plantation Industries and Export Agriculture at the Ministry located at Sethsiripaya in Battaramulla.
