Dramatic high-flying mountain bike firsts

Two spectacular records were set at the Audi Nines MTB 2019 held in a quarry near Birkenfeld, Germany.On a day of dramatic performances by riders from around the world, Bienvenido Aguado Alba of Spain led the way by completing the world’s first successful tsunami front flip.

Tom Isted of England then followed this by reaching a record height of 7.1 metres from the take-off point of the “perfect hip”, a world best on a mountain bike.Other winning performances came from Nicholi Rogatkin of the United States for the best trick on a slopestyle bike and Germany’s Nico Scholze with the best trick on a big bike. Alba then completed a great day for himself by winning the best line freeride.
