A six year old girl and her grandmother killed in a wild elephant attack

A six year old girl and her grandmother have been killed in a wild elephant attack in Ampara.

According to the police, the deceased had been attacked by the wild elephant when they were returning from a boutique at the Suhada-gama area in Ampara. The dead bodies are kept at the Ampara hospital’s mortuary for the postmortem.

Meanwhile, a police constable was killed in a road accident that took place at the Dambulla – Kurunegala main road. As a motor bike had been collided with a tipper, the accident resulted. Police constable M. W. U. P. K. Bandara attached to the Habarana Police Station was killed in the mishap. He had been serving as the IT officer of the Police Station. Driver of the tipper has been arrested in connection with the incident.
