The Government has taken many measures to uplift civilian life in the North. These activities have been undertaken with the full contribution of the Sri Lanka Army.
Soldiers of the Sri Lanka Army are extending support to the programs launched to upgrade civilian life along with their labour contribution. At present the Army soldiers are taking action to overcome shortcomings in schools, places of religious worship and hospitals in the Kilinochchi areas. Heads of these establishments said that it is of great relief for them due to the support that is being given to them to undertake their activities with respect to the support extended by the Army for the development of public places as well as properly maintaining them.
Kilinochchi Commanding Office Major General G.V. Ravipriya clarified the support services extended by the Army in this manner.
He said that the temples, Churches, Hindu Kovils, Mosques, school and Government institutions need labour and technological contribution. These were being provided by the soldiers of the Army.
