Floods sweep through northern Spanish towns killing a driver

Clean-up efforts began after a river burst its banks during sudden, torrential rain in the northern Spanish region of Navarra night killing a man whose body was found after his car was swept away by the torrent of water. Footage showed toppled cars in the streets of Tafallo and Pueyo after the raging Cidacos river, which surged from 4.3 inches to over four metres in a few hours, spilled onto the streets and swept away anything that lay in its path.

Meanwhile, torrential rain in east and south China has affected more than 1.63 million people. Rainstorm which has battered Zhejiang and Jiangxi provinces in east China, Hunan Province in central China, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in south China, Chongqing Municipality, Sichuan Province and Guizhou Province in southwest China, affecting the lives of 1.634 million people. A total of 77,000 people have been relocated. The inclement weather also damaged 126,100 hectares of crops.
