A four point plan from Prime Minister to upgrade the lives of farmers

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe has said that the agricultural industry as well as the living standards of farmers will be upgraded on a four point plan. The plan is based on ensuring a high price for agricultural crops, water security, arming the farmers with modern agricultural knowledge and marketing. Premier Wickremasinghe was addressing a public meeting in the Laggala area.
The modernization of the Na Ula Godigamuwa tank was launched by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe. The expenditure to be incurred is 223 million rupees. 260 farmer families will benefit. The Prime Minister also opened the new storeyed building of the Wilgamuwa Maha Vidyalaya.

The Prime Minister joined in the opening of the Arangala Youth Services Council Training Centre. The first batch of youth for training was admitted by the Prime Minister. Certificates were also handed over to those who had completed training.

Expressing his views on the occasion the Prime Minister said that Youth Brigades will be made main training centres to send those who complete a continued 13-year school education for vocational training. He said that Dambulla and Na Ula will soon get training centres.
The Prime Minister visited the Na Ula Sri Bodhi Maluwa andd called on its Chief Incumbent and engaged in religious observances.
Thereafter the Prime Minister joined in an observation of the Laggala Regional Hospital.

State Ministers Wasantha Aluvihare and Ranjith Aluvihare, Parliamentarian Rohini Wijeratne and a large gathering including regional politicians joined in the occasion.
A public meeting was held opposite the Laggala Bus Stand under the auspices of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe.
