President says 18th and 19th amendments should be abolished

President Maithripala Sirisena says that the 18th and 19th amendments to the constitution should be abolished for a better state administration. The President said this at the 40th anniversary ceremony of the National Housing Development Authority. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe was present on the occasion.

The ceremony, Sev Das Abhiman was held at the BMICH in Colombo. Awards were presented to the Chairman, General Manager and former Chairmen of the National Housing Development Authority. Gold medals were awarded to the employees who have completed 35 years of service or more than that. Minister Sajith Premadasa appointed Kara Keethi Edwin Ariyadasa as a senior consultant of the National Film Corporation. Addressing the ceremony Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe said that the present government worked with determination to provide a house for everyone. A large group of people including Chief Sangahanayake of Japan venerable Banagala Upatissa Thera were present on the occasion.
