Sri Lanka receives the biggest investment of World Bank

Minister Rajitha Senaratne says Sri Lanka has received the World Bank’s biggest investments in recognition of the free health service. The Minister said this while attending a function to establish primary medical centres island wide to improve Sri Lanka’s primary health services. The World Bank has granted 200 million dollars to establish primary medical centres island wide within five years to improve the primary health service. Accordingly 60 centres this year and 150 centres next year are scheduled to be established island wide. The Minister laid the foundation stone to build the primary medical centre at Kalutara, Dediyawala. The minister handed over files containing documents to improve primary health services by establishing medical centres. Anunayaka of Kotte Chapter Venerable Dediyawala Thilakasiri Thera, the Mahasangha, Parliamentarians, health officials and the Word Bank representative were present on the occasion.
