Fruit factory to be set up at the Bingiriya Export Processing Zone

An agreement related to the construction of a Fruit Export Factory in the Bingiriya new Export Processing zone has been signed.

The inking of the agreement took place under the patronage of Deputy Minister Nalin Bandara. Board of Investment Chairman Mangala Yapa and Director of Voppon Company Han Dickwin inked the agreement. Deputy Minister Nalin Bandara said that it would bring a foreign investment of 1.4 million US Dollars to Sri Lanka.

Around 160 direct jobs are expected to be generated. Fruits cultivated in the Kurunegala District would fetch a higher price as a result. The Deputy Minister added that the people could earn foreign exchange with the collection of these products to the export market.
