“Pokémon: Detective Pikachu” released tomorrow

“Pokémon: Detective Pikachu” is a 2019 urban fantasy mystery film
directed by Rob Letterman, who co-wrote the screenplay with Dan Hernandez, Benji Samit and Derek Connolly from a story by Hernandez, Samit and Nicole Perlman. Based on the Pokémon franchise created by Satoshi Tajiri and the 2016 video game Detective Pikachu, the film is produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, Legendary Pictures and The Pokémon Company, in association with Toho Co., Ltd. In Ryme City, a metropolis populated between the bonds of humans and Pokémon alike, a 21-year-old former Pokémon trainer named Tim Goodman comes into contact with a talking Pikachu that once belonged to his father, Harry Goodman, who went missing after an accident. Tim and the talking Pikachu, who calls himself “Detective Pikachu”, investigate to find his whereabouts with the help of a reporter, Lucy Stevens, and her Psyduck, until they come across something that endangers the Pokémon world. The film was released in Japan on May 3, 2019, and is scheduled to be released in the United States on May 10, 2019, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures in RealD 3D and Dolby Cinema.
