Building in Taipei tilts following 6.7-magnitude earthquake

One multistory building in downtown Taipei tilted following the 6.7-magnitude earthquake that rattled Hualien County in eastern Taiwan at 13:01 Thursday.

The earthquake, the strongest that rocked Taiwan so far this year, lasted for one minute in Hualien and other areas, injuring at least 17 people.

The epicenter was monitored at 24.13 degrees north latitude and 121.52 degrees east longitude.

The Jin Lin building on the Chang’an East Road was leaning toward a neighbor building with its foundation shifted.

It has been cordoned off while rubble and broken tiles were seen lying at the entrance.
