Bautista wins yet again

Spain’s Alvaro Bautista recorded his ninth consecutive World Superbike victory when he dominated again on his Ducati at Aragon. Bautista held the lead from pole position, seeing off the challenge of Briton Jonathan Rea on a Kawasaki and building a healthy lead while the battle for the minor placing went on behind him. Rea and Chaz Davies disputed second place with Rea eventually finishing ahead of his British compatriot on a Kawasaki. Another pair of Britons took fourth and fifth place, Leon Haslam beating Alex Lowes to the chequered flag. Bautista also won the sprint race to become only the second biker to win nine-in-a-row in the class after Neil Hodgson in 2003. After three rounds, Bautista leads the championship on 186 points, 39 ahead of Rea with Lowes a further 47 points behind.
