All-Round Mumbai Indians Hand Chennai Super Kings First Loss Of IPL 2019

Mumbai Indians bowlers Lasith Malinga, Hardik Pandya and Jason Behrendorff fired in unison to restrict defending champions Chennai Super Kings to 133/8 and hand them their first loss of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Veteran Malinga and Pandya picked three wickets each while Behrendorff, making his IPL debut, scalped two wickets to help the hosts register a 37 runs victory. The bowlers displayed a brilliant performance after Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard’s quick-fire knock propelled Mumbai Indians to 170/5.Chasing the target, Chennai started on a poor note, losing openers Ambati Rayudu and Shane Watson cheaply. While Lasith Malinga accounted for Watson (5), Jason Behrendorff sent back Rayudu on a duck.Chennai’s most dependable batsman Suresh Raina also couldn’t do much in the middle after managing just 16 runs off 15 deliveries.
