Survivors assess damage after storm kills over two dozens

Survivors of a severe thunderstorm, which killed over two dozen people in southern Nepal, were assessing damages to their homes as recovery efforts continued. Buildings were destroyed and trees uprooted during the thunderstorm that swept through parts of southern Nepal, injuring around 400 people and killing 25. A survivor in Bara district said her belongings were lost amongst the debris while two of her family members have broken bones. Bara is located about 62 km south of Kathmandu, and borders India’s eastern state of Bihar. Authorities warned that the death toll may increase as rescuers were still trying to reach many of those affected.
