President at Bambalapitiya Vajiraramaya Temple

President Maithripala Sirisena joined to view the centenary celebration exhibition of the Siri Vajirarama Dhamma School in Bambalapitiya. Today is the third day of the exhibition. The exhibition “Viduru Vidassana”, which has been organized to mark the centenary year of the Bambalapitiya Siri Vajirarama Dhamma School commenced on Friday. The students of the Dhamma School warmly welcomed the President when he arrived at the Siri Vajirarama Temple. Thereafter the President opened the exhibition and took time to view the exhibition.

The President paid homage to the sacred relics at the exhibition premises. The exhibition has been organized to recall the services to the Buddhasasana by the Buddhist monks who were at the Vajirarama Temple and to invoke merits on them. The exhibition displays autographs, goods used by the Buddhist Monks, documents, books and the opportunity to worship the sacred relics at its premises. President Maithripala Sirisena visited the library of the Siri Vajirarama Temple and made a special entry on the Guest Book. He also viewed goods, books and entries made by Venerable Palane Sir Vajiragnana Thera which are kept at his abode.

The Maha Sangha led by the Maha Nayaka of Amarapura Kalyanawansa Maha Nikaya Venerable Dodanpahala Chandrasiri, Chief Monk of Siri Vajiraramaya and the Maha Nayaka of Amarapura Sri Dhammarakdhitha Maha Nikaya Venerable Thrikumamale Ananda Thera and a large group of people were present on the occasion. The President also exchanged views with the students of the Dhamma School.
