Court dismisses Rambukwella’s objections in corruption case

The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court has dismissed preliminary objections filed by former Minister KeheliyaRambukwella over a corruption case filed against him.

Charges have been levelled against Mr. Rambukwella for misusing Rs 230,984 belonging to the State Printing Corporation  utilizing it to pay his private phone bill during his tenure as the Minister of Mass Media. Former Chairman of the SPC JayampathyBandara has also been named as a respondent in the case.

Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne during today’s hearing had dismissed the objections filed by the accused and had announced that the case would be taken up for further hearing on June 28th.
