Canadian phenom Auger-Aliassime dismisses Lorenzi in straight sets in Miami

Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime advanced to the main draw at the Miami Open with a 7-6, 6-2 win over Italy’s Paolo Lorenzi. Auger Aliassime has had a number of good results recently including a spot in the finals of the Rio Open in late February. Despite being the youngest person to reach an ATP 500 event, the 18-year-old was not high enough in the rankings to secure a spot in the Miami main draw when the entry list came out several weeks ago. Roger Federer and Dominic Thiem battled it out in the BNP Paribas Open in California and both are healthy and set to go again here in Miami. The Indian Wells victory was Theim’s first ATP 1000 win and kept Federer from passing his 100 tournament title mark in Dubai.
