Arrangements in place to vest the Methsiri Sevana Kidney Prevention Centre in the public

President Maithripala Sirisena will vest in the public the Methsiri Sevana Kidney Prevention Centre on Wednesday.
The Centre has been constructed with the most modern technology in the world. 487 million rupees has been spent for the project from the President’s Fund. It is equipped with a stay centre for patients, a laboratory and many other facilities. Kidney patients from Vavuniya, Mannar, Jaffna, Trincomalee, and Kurunegala Districts will immensely benefit from the Methsiri Sevana Kidney Prevention Centre in Anuradhapura. Construction work has been carried out with the support of the Armed Forces.
A group of officials including North Central Provincial Health Director Dr. Palitha Bandara made an inspection visit to the Centre.
Dr. Palitha Bandara said that by now there are nearly 17,000 kidney patients within the North Central Province. He said that the second floor of the Centre is allocated to provide a knowledge to those who had undergone kidney transplant and those who are to face such a situation. Nearly 18 rooms are allocated for this purpose. He revealed that the Government intends to provide meals to patients who come from faraway places.
