Decision on acquittal of Gamini Senarath and four others to be taken up on Mar 27th

The Permanent High Court at bar today fixed 27th March to deliver the order on the request made to acquit four persons including Gamini Senarath who served as Chief of Staff of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa from the case filed against them.
The case was taken up for hearing by the High Court judges Sampath Abeykoon, Sampath Wijeratne and Champa Janaki Rajaratne. The case has been filed against them with respect to financial fraud said to have taken place in the illegal investment of a sum of 500 million rupees in the Helenco Hotel Private Company given by the Litro Lanka Gas Company to Canwin Holdings Company.
The case has been filed by the Attorney General against Gamini Senarath, Piyadasa Kudabalage, Neil Bandara Hapuwinna and Lasantha Bandara.
