Border town of Dong Dang prepares for Kim’s arrival in Vietnam

Preparations were in full swing in the remote town of Dong Dang, which sits on Vietnam’s border with China, ahead of a visit by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Vietnam is expecting Kim to arrive by train for his summit in Hanoi next week with U.S. President Donald Trump, two sources with direct knowledge of security and logistics planning. He is expected to pass through this border crossing. It could take the North Korean leader at least two and a half days to travel the thousands of kilometres through China by train, from the North Korean capital of Pyongyang to Vietnam. He is expected to arrive on February 25th at Dong Dang border station, where he will disembark and drive 170 km to Hanoi by car.
