Vintage Alfa Romeo, Lego car go up on sale at Paris retro car show

The world’s biggest classic car show returned to Paris. Now on its 44th edition, the world-renowned Retromobile vintage car expo features 600 cars spread across a 72,000 square-metre space.

Two auctions organised by Parisian house Artcurial will also take place and this Sunday as part of the show.

The first auction will highlight retro cars and motorcycles.

The star of the show is a 1939 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Touring Berlinetta, which has only known four owners.

It is estimated to sell at between $16 to $22 million. The car showcases the best of pre-World War Two showmanship, and possesses many technological features ahead of its time, including an inline eight-cylinder engine and double compressors.

Lamoure met the current owner, Dutch architect Jan Willem Martens, at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the other renowned car show of the year, and the two struck up a friendship, which resulted in Artcurial being entrusted with the sale of the vehicle.
