Navy assists to bring ill Malaysian sailor ashore for treatment

Sri Lanka Navy has rendered assistance to bring ashore a Malaysian sailor fallen ill aboard a Malaysian ship at sea for treatment.
Following information given by the High Commission of Malaysia to the Maritime Rescue Coordinating Centre stationed at the Naval Headquarters, Sri Lanka Navy had taken steps to bring ashore the sailor who was taken ill onboard Royal Malaysian Naval Vessel KD Kasthuri.
On receipt of the distress call, the Navy has promptly dispatched a Fast Attack Craft attached to the Western Naval Command to retrieve the patient.
The patient was thereafter transferred to the FAC at the sea and brought to the Colombo Harbour. Subsequently, the patient was rushed to a private hospital in Colombo for further treatment.
