New District Leaders for the SLFP

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party has appointed new district leaders. The newly appointed district leaders received their appointment letters from President Maithripala Sirisena at President’s Office yesterday.

Parliamentarian Nimal Siripala De Silva will be the leader of the Badulla district. Parliamentarian S B Dissanayake will be the district leader of the SLFP for Kandy and Mahinda Amaraweera, Mahinda Samarasinghe, Dayasiri Jayasekera, Duminda Dissanayake will be the leaders for the Hambantota, Kalutara, Kurunegala and Anuradhapura districts respectively.
Ranjith Siyambalapitiya is the Kegalle district SLFP leader. District leaders for Gampaha, Matale and Colombo will be Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Lakshman Wasantha Perera and Thilanga Sumathipala respectively.
Chief Minister of the Southern Province, Shan Wijaya-lal De Silva has been appointed as the leader for the Galle District. Former Parliamentarian Wijaya Dahanayake received his appointment letter as the SLFP district leader of Matara. Sriyani Wijewickrama will serve as the SLFP district leader of Ampara. M L A M Hisbullah and Gunaratnam Haridharan were appointed as the district leaders for the Batticaloa.
Angajan Ramanathan was appointed as the leader for the Jaffna and Kilinochchi districts. Parliamentarian Cader Masthan is the leader for the Mannar, Mullaithivu and Vavuniya districts. Nuwara Eliya SLFP leader will be former Provincial Councilor W G Ranasinghe.
Former Provincial Councilor Athula Kumara Rahubadda will serve as the Ratnapura district leader. Former Provincial councilor Ariyawathi Galappaththy is the Trincomalee district leader of the SLFP.
The new appointments were made under the party re-organization initiative. President Sirisena briefed the newly appointed district leaders following handing over of appointment letters.
