167,907 have qualified to enter universities

According to the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination results this year 167,907 have qualified to enter universities. 321,469 sat for the examination this year. The results of the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination results were issued midnight yesterday. The list of names of Islands first second and third places have been announced. Accordingly Kalani Samudra Rajapaksa has come all island first in the biology stream this year. Ravindu Shashika of D.S. Senanayake College Colombo is in the second place. In physical science stream Chathuni Hansani Wijegunawardena of Vishaka Vidyalaya, Colombo is in the first place. Chamindu Suran Liyanage of Richmond College, Galle is in the second place. Kasun Induranga of Kurunegala Maliyadeva Boys School is island first in the commerce stream. Uchini Ayathma of Gampaha Ratnawali Balika Vidyalaya is in the second place. In the arts stream, Senadhi Dhamya de Alwis of Panadura Lysiam International School is in the island first place. Sithmi Nimashi of Kurunegala Maliyadeva Girls School is in the second place in the island. Pamuditha Yasas of Ananda College Colombo is island first in the engineering technology stream. Tharindu Heshan of the same school is in the second place. In bio technology stream Sanduni Piumasha Kodippili is on the island first place. Mohideen Bawa Rishan Mohamed of Samanthurai Muslim Central College is in the second place. Meanwhile the examination department says applications for re-corrections of examination papers can be sent upto the 16th of next month.
