Subjects of new ministries published on extraordinary gazette

Subjects under the new ministries have been announced through an extraordinary gazette notification. The Gazette has announced the subjects and duties of each minister of the new Cabinet and the departments, state corporations and statutory boards.

The office of the Head of Defence Staff, Civil Defence Department, Kotalawala Defence University, Defence Services Command and Staff College, Ranaviru Seva Authority and Defence Services School are under the Ministry of Defence which is under the President. National Cadet Core, National Defence Fund, National Intelligence Bureau, Defence Investigations and Development Centre, National Defence Study Centre, Sri Lanka Coastal Department and Lanka Logistic and Technologies Limited are under the Defence Ministry. Police Department, National Dangerous Drugs Control Board, National Media Centre and Government Printing Department are also under the Defence Ministry.

The National Police, Economic Affairs, Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development, Vocational Training and Skills Development and Youth Affairs Ministry which is under the Prime Minister includes many institutions. Palmyra Development Board, National Youth Services Council, National Youth Brigade, Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority and Mahaweli Water Protection and Investment Program belong to the same ministry.  govThe Rehabilitation Commissioner’s Office and Population and Statistics Department are also under the same ministry.

The Treasury, Central Bank, all State Banks and their controlling companies, Securities and Exchange Commission, National Lotteries Board belong to the Ministry of Mass Media and Finance.

Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, Rupavahini Corporation, Independent Television Network, Lake House and the Public Utilities Commission belong to the same Ministry.
