Chaplin’s World in Switzerland welcomes visitors worldwide

The former residence of screen legend Charles Spencer Chaplin, located in the small town of Vevey on the shore of Lake Geneva in west Switzerland, has now been built into a museum open to visitors.

Chaplin is perhaps one of the most well-known residents of the small but modern town. He spent his last 25 years here, and now Chaplin’s statue stands next to the beautiful Lake Geneva.

In the spring of 2016, Chaplin’s former residence was opened to the public and was named Chaplin’s World, which is Chaplin’s favorite backyard garden.

Pigeon said Jackson used to play with Chaplin’s children on the tree, and so it got the name. The entire manor covers an area of about 14 hectares and has a full range of supporting facilities, including swimming pools, tennis courts and farms.

Neighbors, tourists and friends came to visit Chaplin during his living times here. Since its opening to the public, Chaplin’s World had received more than 700,000 visitors from 172 countries and regions around the world, according to Pigeon.

The restaurant, living room, and drawing room here maintain the original appearances.
