More Ministers assumeoffice

Several Parliamentarians who took oaths as new Ministers assumed duties today.
Vajira Abeywardena who has been appointed as Minister of Internal Affairs and Home Affairs and Provincial Councils and Local Government assumed office. Expressing views on the occasion, Minister Vjira Abeywardena expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed for the victory in a democratic manner.
Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam assumed duties at the Education Ministry located as Isurupaya in Pelawatte this morning.
Ravi Karunanayake also assumed duties as Minister of Power, Energy and Enterprise Development this morning. Giving his views on the occasion, the Minister said that the democratic victory achieved ending the political dispute is a triumph of everyone.
Minister Rajitha Senaratne has said that the two year loss that had taken place in the health sector will be solved within two months. He made this reference assuming duties as Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine.
Ranjith Maddumabandara assumed duties as Minister of Public Administration and Disaster Management. He assumed office at the Public Administration Ministry.
Minister of Higher Education, Water Supplies and Urban Planning Rauf Hakeem today assumed duties at the Ministry of Higher Education. Expressing his views on the occasion, Minister Hakeem said that they will have to face several elections next year.
Daya Gamage assumed office as Minister at the Ministry of Labour, Trade Union Relations and Social Empowerment today. Expressing his views on the occasion, the Minister referred to the major responsibility vested in them.
Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Arjuna Ranatunge pointed out that his aim was to endow public service institutions to the future generation. He said so assuming duties in his Ministerial Portfolio at Sethsiripaya today.
Minister Gayantha Karunailake assumed office at the Ministry of Lands and Parliamentary Reforms this morning.
Minister John Amaratunge said that many programmes will be launched for the promotion of the tourism industry. He made this reference assuming duties at the Ministry of Tourism and Christian Religious Affairs.
P. Harrison assumed office as Minister of Agriculture, Rural and Economic Affairs, Livestock Development, Irrigation and Fisheries and Aquatic Resources at his Ministry today.
