Fuel prices are reduced

The Government has taken the initiative of further passing on the benefits of the fuel prices reduction in the world market to the people. A statement issued by the Ministry of Finance and Mass Media states that the reduction in prices of fuel and other commodities will help to reduce cost of living.

The Government introduced a price formula with the aim of passing on the benefits of fuel price fluctuations in the world market to the consumers. The price of a litre of petrol has come down by thirty rupees with effect from the 10th of October while the price of a litre of diesel has reduced by 22 rupees.

According to the price formula introduced by the Government price of a litre of Octane 92 petrol has been reduced by ten rupees from 135 to 125 rupees. A litre of Octane 95 petrol has been reduced from 159 rupees to 149 rupees. A litre of auto diesel has been reduced from 106 rupees to 101 rupees. A litre of super diesel has come down by 10 rupees from 131 to 121 rupees.
