A heroic Sri Lankan national honored in Korea

After saving a 91 year old woman from a house that was being gutted by a fire in Korea, a Sri Lankan migrant worker has been awarded permanent residency status.

Sri Lankan migrant worker Nimal Bandara who saved a woman in February 2017, was conferred with PR status by the Korean government.

He had arrived in Korea in 2011 as a migrant worker. He is a resident of Minipe in Mahiyanganaya.

Speaking from Korea over a video call Nimal Bandara stated that his act was hailed by people all round the world due to spread of the news through social media.

He extended his gratitude to peoples of both Sri Lanka and Korea.
