Prime Minister says he will not allow to sell national assets

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa says he will not allow to sell national assets after coming to power through the peoples’ vote. He said this while attending a ceremony in Hambantota. The presentation of Akthapathra of the post of Adhikarana Sangha Nayake to Venerable Thalampahuruwe Indrasiri Thera who is the Chief Monk of the Kasagala Historic Temple, took place under the patronage of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The Maha Sangha and Parliamentarians were present on the occasion. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said that the Speaker can conduct parliamentary affairs and he should be an independent person. The President said to conduct it legally, methodically and according to traditions. He said that they were prepared to leave if a No Confidence Motion is passed legally. However he said it will not be easy to force them out.
