PSG’s Cavani collects Golden Foot award

Paris St. Germain striker Edinson Cavani was awarded the 2018 international Golden Foot soccer award in Monaco.The 31 year-old Uruguayan international beat Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and fellow Uruguay forward Luis Suarez to the title. Organised by the World Champions Club, the award recognises the best active footballer of the year aged 28 and over and is based on votes by media as well as members of the public. Cavani made his debut in his homeland for Danubio before moving to europe with Italian side Palermo in 2007. Since the 2008-09 season he has reached double digit goal scoring figures every season playing for Palermo, Napoli and French champions PSG, where he has won four league titles. Cavani also has 46 goals in 106 games for Uruguay, winning the Copa America in 2011.
