President claims it is opportune for a new transformation in the agri industry

President Maithripala Sirisena has said that we should be expeditiously enter into an agri economic programme to stand up with self-esteem. He made this observation addressing a function held at the Pothuwewa Shailathalarama Raja Maha Vihare in Katupotha.
The Pinkama organized to mark the opening of the new Dathu Mandiraya of the Pothuwewa Shailathalarama Raja Maha Vihare in Katupotha was held this morning under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena. The Shailathalarama Raja |Maha Vihare is a temple which is of historical value. The President first offered flowers after arriving at the Vihare. The President then planted a white bo sapling brought from India. Thereafter the President undertook an observation visit of the sacred site viewing the artifacts of historic value.
Addressing the gathering present, President Maithripala Sirisena referred to the weather and climatic changes. He spoke on the importance of everyone engaging in a collective effort to sorting out the economic problems of the country understanding the challenges the nation has to confront in the face of the weather and climatic changes.
In the meantime, the President also joined in another special activity at the precincts of the Vihare. The President placed his signature to two weddings of couples residing in the Katupotha area. The couples Kushan Sampath and Madhavi Herath as well as Nalin Herath and Diloma Maduwanthie residing in Katupoltha wedded today.
Thereafter the President visited the Pahala Pothuwewa Primary school in Katupotha and exchanged pleasantries with the students.
