Fire tornado snatches firefighter’s hose in Canada

A rare fire tornado snatched a Canadian firefighter’s hose in British Columbia in August as the province experienced more than 500 wildfires across the region.Video posted on Instagram on August 19 showed three firefighters trying to pull back the hose, which was sucked into a fire whirl. Instagram user M.C. Schidlowsky said “fire tornado destroyed our line”, and added the tornado was roughly 200-foot tall. According to local media, the fire tornado was caused by a mix of the heat rising off the wildfire and high winds. British Columbia declared a state of emergency in August due to the wildfires.
