Tornado-like winds made landfall in coastal area in southeastern Spain on Friday (September 7) moving over fields and causing debris to whirl through air, eyewitness video showed.
Three waterspouts formed in the Alicante towns of Guardamar del Segura, La Mata and Xabia, and left intense rains, Spanish news agency EFE reported.
Local media reported a small amount of damage to greenhouses located in rural area.
A statement from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) said the largest rainfall in the Valencian coast is expected between Saturday and Monday (September 10).
