Brazil’s Medina leads qualifying at Surf Ranch Pro

Brazil’s Gabriel Medina topped the scoresheet in qualifying for the World Surf League Surf Ranch Pro in California.Medina, who currently sits in second place overall on the WSL Championship Tour standings, finished the day with a best two ride score of 17.70 at the Surf Ranch wave pool.Japan’s Kanoa Igarashi finished the day in second place with a score of 15.73 with Australian Owen Wright just behind in third with his 15.56.Brazilian Championship Tour leader Filipe Toledo was fourth best at 15.47.All 36 surfers taking part will have one more day of qualifying before the top eight finishers move on to the finals tomorrow.
