Court fixes dates for case against Ranjan

The Supreme Court today ordered the case of contempt of court against Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake to be taken up for hearing in December.

Accordingly a three member bench including Chief Justice Priyasad Dep ordered the case to be taken up on the 10th, 11th and 12th of December. The Attorney General has named six journalists as witnesses while the six were issued notice to appear before Court on the 10th when the case was taken up for hearing today.

Additional Solicitor General Priyantha Nawana tabled evidence in the case before the Supreme Court this morning. 14 witnesses and 8 Court produce have been included in the case.
