Awards presentation of the Digicon6 Sri Lanka Short Film competition

The Awards presentation of the Digicon6 Sri Lanka Short Film competition organized by the Independent Television Media Network was held yesterday. The aim of this event was to take Sri Lankan filmmakers to the international arena.

Directors were honored at four categories and the Most Voted Winner Award was clinched by Anton Thanapathi for the Divorce Short Film. Malshani Jayasinghe who directed the short film Rotating Lives won the Future Generation Winner Award. Aravind Wanninayake won the Second Silver Winner Awards on behalf of his short film Turn.

Manoj Galkissage succeeded in clinching the First Silver Winner Award for his short film Senarath Bungalow. Dananjaya Bandara who directed the short film Song of the Innocent won the Gold Winner Award from among the large number of competitors. Accordingly he gets the opportunity of viewing the final competition qualifying for the Digicon6 Asia competition to be held in Japan.

ITN Chairperson Thilaka Jayasundera, Chief Executive Officer Chandana Tilakeratne and General Manager Aruna Wijesinghe were among those who participated in the Awards festival.
