It’s no wonder global luxury brands from Gucci to Louis Vuitton are investing heavily in China, despite the slowing economy and a crackdown on conspicuous consumption there’s a new wave of cash-rich millennials. For Michelle Han a self-proclaimed luxury connoisseur who also runs an online clothing retailer in her spare time, sifting through racks and scouring shelves for fashion’s latest trends is a frequent pleasure. Han is part of the country’s growing middle class and a generation of often single children armed with family money, eager to splurge on everything from jewellery and fashion, to cosmetics and handbags.
