Suwa Seriya to be launched in the North

The ‘Suwa Seriya’ ambulance service which has been able to rescue hundreds of lives since its inception will be introduced to Northern Province on the 21st of this month.
The ambulance service titled ‘Suwa Seriya’ was introduced to Sri Lanka under a huge protest and flak from different quarters of the society by President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe for the benefit of the general public.
The ambulance service can be connected by dialing hot line 1990. The ‘Suwa Seriya’ ambulance service was highly efficient in many cases reported in several parts of the country. The latest phase of the ‘Suwa Seriya’ project will be implemented in the North. The assembled ambulances were dispatched to the Northern Province from DIMO yard in Gampaha.
50 ambulances were dispatched to Jaffna from Gampaha. The ambulance service will be launched in the Northern Province on the 21st of this month under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. 250 Suwa Seriya ambulances will be in operation in the Northern Province. The good governance administration implemented the Suwa Seriya project with the support of the Indian government. The ‘Suwa Seriya’ service is successfully being implemented in a number of districts, island wide.
