Buddhist monks undertake peace march in northern India

Buddhist monks and nuns from Thailand concluded a peace walk, continuing for over a monthin mountainous desert town of Leh in north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The march was made to promote and spread the message of peace, love, and communal harmony. Almost 185 participants completed the month-long march at the Shanti Stupa in Leh. The ‘pad yatra’ had started from Bodh Gaya in north Indian state of Bihar, which is known to be the place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. The place is over 2,000 kilometres from Bodh Gaya and walking monks took a stop at the hilld town of Dharamsala.
