President inspects construction work on the Polonnaruwa Kidney Hospital

President Maithripala Sirisena today inspected the construction work of the National Kidney Hospital that is in progress in Polonnaruwa. The President pointed out the need to the officials to expedite the construction and pass on its benefits to the people suffering from the kidney disease.
The National Kidney Hospital in Polonnaruwa is being built as a friendly gift being given by the Chinese Government following a request made by the President. The President who visited the construction site inspected the progress of work. Once constructed it will become the largest kidney hospital in South Asia.
The estimated expenditure is around 12,000 million rupees. The Hospital will be equipped with state of the art laboratories and high technology. It is planned to complete the construction work by July 2020.
After inspecting the construction work of the Hospital, the President arrived at the Parakrama Samudra and spent his time there for a brief period. The President did not forget to exchange pleasantries with the pilgrims who had come to the Polonnaruwa sacred site. The pilgrims presented their problems to the President.
The President who toured the Polonnaruwa area last night enjoying the Poson environment also joined in visiting the Poson Zone organized at the Kaduruwela Agricultural Economic Centre premises.
