Ogier leads the way ahead of Neuville after a treacherous day two in Sardinia

Sebastien Ogier leads the way after day two of the Rally of Italy after the Frenchman mastered treacherous wet conditions in Sardinia on Friday (June 8). The Ford driver is second in the overall standings behind leader Thierry Neuville, but he got the better of the Belgian on Friday with Neuville having to settle for second in his Hyundai – he’s 18.9 seconds adrift heading into day three. Estonian driver Ott Tanak was in the mix in third place after stage eight in his Toyota, but he dropped well back after the end of the day with his compatriot Jari-Matti Latvala replacing him.Norwegian rider Andreas Mikkelsen had built a substantial 14-second lead over his team-mate Neuville after riday’s first two stages, but disaster struck later on as he crashed with conditions worsening. Neuville leads Ogier by 19 points in the overall standings.
