Many investors from Doha are keen on starting businesses in Sri Lanka

Chief Executive Officer of the Doha Bank Group R. Seetharaman has said that Sri Lanka’s economy is stable. As such many investors are keen on starting businesses in Sri Lanka. He made this observation at a media conference held in Colombo.

A representative office of the Doha Bank was opened at the Colombo World Trade Centre.

Chief Executive Officer of the Doha Bank Group R. Seetharaman mentioned that they opened this representative office due to the positive environment prevailing for business opportunities in Sri Lanka. Joining in a special interview with the ITN Media Network he claimed that they were prepared to undertake more investments in the island nation in future.

The bank is also working to organize several business-to-business and business-to-government meeting to discuss joint ventures.

He also said that the Doha Bank is the first bank from the Gulf region to open in Sri Lanka and there are similar investments to follow. He said the US$ 400 million credit line is currently available and this too will be increased in the future.
